300 10th St.

Voëlklip, Hermanus

Situated within walking distance of the beach this beautifully decorated family beach house is the perfect holiday getaway for anyone wanting to visit the historical coastal town of Hermanus.

This double storey house has two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms upstairs – one looking out towards the sea and the other up to the Koggelberg mountains that overlook the town. A very large entertainment area with open-plan kitchen, sitting-room and dining section with huge French doors leading out to balconies on both sides. A built-in braai on the mountain-side balcony big enough to cook for 12 people with ease.

Downstairs are two more double bedrooms both with their own bathroom and a “bunk room” for kids or any extra family that may come to stay.

The house is a ten-minute walk to Voelklip beach and a ten minute walk to some popular restaurants and beach bars right on the sea-front. A ten-minute drive gets you to the 36-hole golf course and walks up into the Fernkloof Reserve, where you’ll find hundreds of beautiful species of indigenous wild flowers.

Attractions

The most famous of our attractions are the magnificent Southern Right Whales that arrive around August and come close into the bay to produce their offspring.  A walk along the Cliff Path from Voelklip into town is one of the most magnificent ways to see these beautiful creatures leaping out of the ocean and breaching as they crash back into the sea.

The Hemel-en-Aarde Valley is famous for its wines and you can taste some of S.A’s best cultivars right on the estates followed by a delicious meal served in their restaurants. The perfect way to stock up your wine cellar straight from the vineyard.

Stanford is a historic village situated about half an hour from us that has one of the most famous restaurants in South Africa and a little further on you’ll reach the fishing town of Gansbaai where, the very brave, can go shark cage diving!

For those who prefer a more sedate and cultural form of entertainment – there are weekly markets with a fabulous array of local produce, artefacts and clothes and in June our “must visit” FynArts Festival boasts talks and performances by famous S.A authors, musicians, artists, films and wine-makers.
